Wrestling legend speaks at first of three events in St. Paul
Wrestling legend Ted Dibiase, known as the Million Dollar Man, made the first of three public speaking events in St. Paul last night at the Bethel Family Worship Centre.
Dibiase speaks again tonight (Monday, Feb. 20) at Bethel at a men’s only service at 7 p.m., and again on Tuesday at the St. Paul Seniors Centre at 7 p.m., located at 5114 49 Street, which is open to anyone. Dibiase will also speak to students at schools in the area on Tuesday.
Dibiase, who has been in the ring with the likes of Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage and Jake the Snake, started the sermon with his recognizable laugh and catchphrase, “everybody’s got a price, for the Million Dollar Man,” Sunday night.
Dibiase is a minister with Heart of David Ministry and has travelled around the world with his message for 20 years, when he says he gave his life to Christ.
“The last thing I ever thought I’d be doing in my life is standing at the pulpit and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ,” said Dibiase.
Before the sermon, Dibiase said he’s been called to minister to men and the issues men face, like pride, ego and leading the family.
“Most men chase after the world and all that the world has to offer,” he said. “I’m there to say, ‘look, I’ve been there and done that.’ I’ve had all the stuff you think is going to make you so happy and it’s not.”
Dibiase spoke to performing in front of tens of thousands of people at WrestleMania and how his success in the ring almost led to the end of his marriage.
