Hoping Smith can fix the mess
Letter to the Editor
To the Editor,
As a person whoís always lived in Alberta, Iíve been disappointed to see how much weíve drifted away from whatís made us a strong province Ė limited government and balanced budgets. We all sacrificed in the 90s so that we wouldnít leave our kids with a pile of debt. Now all that hard work has been undone by the PCs, who seem to think the best way to get reelected is to throw money at anything that moves.
We now have a large provincial debt again. And yet spending from the PCs keeps coming! On top of the big spending (and deficit) in last monthís budget, Alison Redford is announcing even more spending that wasnít in the budget. Where do the PCs think weíre going to get all the money to pay for this? Or do they? Are we simply going to keep piling on the debt?
I donít want my children and grandchildren to face an overwhelming burden of debt.
Itís not fair to them and itís not fair to the people who sacrificed so much to get us out of debt in the first place. Iím hoping that Danielle Smith and the Wildrose Party can fix the mess and put us back on track before itís too late.
