Dogs attack man in Saddle Lake

Jun 15, 2012 05:10 pm | Journal Staff

A twenty-one-year-old male sustained serious injuries after being attacked by as many as six dogs in Saddle Lake on the night of June 14.

The man was walking along a road on the reserve at around midnight, when he was mauled, according to an RCMP press release. He and two relatives were passing in front of a residence when all of a sudden a dog, described as a pitbull or bulldog, launched at the victim and bit into his face. Other dogs, which reportedly belong to the same homeowner, also attacked and bit the male on the arm and hand. The victim's relatives tried to fight off the dogs, however the attack did not end until the homeowner pulled the dogs away.

The victim sustained extensive lacerations to his face and arms and is recovering in hospital. The attack is still under investigation.
