Terry Fox Run cruises through town
Over $4,000 raised for cancer research
The annual Terry Fox Run was held in St. Paul on Sunday afternoon, and 27 community members came out to get active and raise funds for cancer research in honour of Fox’s monumental run across Canada.
A diverse crowd featuring participants of all ages, some with their dogs, took to the streets of St. Paul on foot, bicycle and roller blades for the five km trek, and some even doubled back to make it 10 km.
Mayor Glenn Andersen was present at the event to send off the participants and congratulate their efforts upon arrival at the finish line.
“It’s a wonderful day for a run,” Andersen said to participants before the start. “It’s for a really good cause and I hope everyone enjoys their run.”
In total, $4,102 was raised at the event for cancer research, $3,200 of which was raised solely by annual participant Robert Pruneau.
