This year’s Alberta Summer Games took place in Leduc over the weekend, with many St. Paul and area athletes travelling to the games to represent Zone 7. The athletes participated in a wide range of events, including team and individual sports.
Athletics, baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, and lacrosse were among the many sports available for talented young athletes to showcase their abilities on the provincial level. The games even included swimming, as well as mountain and BMX bike riding, which added to the diversity of sports available to kids at the games.
Zone 7 improved on their standings in medal count compared to this year’s winter games that took place in February. Zone 7 finished sixth in total medal count with 11 gold medals, 25 silver medals, and 33 bronze medals.
