Frog Lake home invasion under investigation

In the early hours of Sunday morning, Elk Point RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion that occurred at a residence in Frog Lake. Elk Point RCMP responded to the incident on Oct. 29, at about 6:15 a.m.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, Elk Point RCMP responded to a report of a home invasion that occurred at a residence in Frog Lake.

Elk Point RCMP responded to the incident on Oct. 29, at about 6:15 a.m., and were advised that several suspects entered the residence after shooting at the front door with a firearm. A victim who was sleeping inside near the front entrance suffered a gunshot wound and was assaulted during an altercation. The suspects then stole a TV and jewellery and fled the residence in a vehicle.

The victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported via EMS to a hospital in Edmonton. Police believe this was not a random incident and there is no risk to public safety at this time.

Elk Point RCMP along with General Investigative Section (GIS) from Edmonton, and St. Paul Forensic Identification Section (FIS) continue to investigate.
