Heading out to B3 MotoX Park on the weekend guaranteed some high-octane action and excitement as motocross riders from all over the region gathered for the Fountain Tire Cup, a two-day racing event open to all ages and all levels of riders.

Track owner Cory Goodon was on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly all weekend long.

“This is an awesome set of races that we're super stoked to have,” Goodon said. “It’s awesome that we've had a really good turnout of people from all ages and skill levels, but this weekend is really about the kids, you know? We've got a bunch of young, local riders here today doing their best, which is really what you want to see regardless of how they finish.”

A total of 52 youth riders competed in the Fountain Tire Cup, and each race consisted of six laps around the hills and rough terrain that make up the track south of Spedden. At the conclusion of the weekend, local riders made quite a showing.

In 50cc classes, Brooks Gooden places first in Group A, while Brady Blackburn and Ryder Lee placed third and sixth respectively.

In 65cc classes, Brett Goodon came in second in Group A, and Connor Blackburn also grabbed a second-place finish in Group B.

Brennan Goodon came away on top of 85cc Group A with first place, with second and third place going to Mason Watt and Dylan Zapisocki in 85cc Group B.

In other categories, McKenna Watt finished in second place in the Ladies A grouping, Ryan Mulkay took fifth place in Under 25 Group B, and Brandon Lee and Keith Garnier finished in first and fifth respectively in Over 25 Group B.

“Those that have been coming out year after year have improved significantly, but this was also the first race for a lot of our youngest riders as well.”

The Cup was sponsored by Northern Source Rentals and Jason Quinney at Fountain Tire.

“The sponsors have been a huge help, and Jason is a big supporter of youth motocross. Because of him, this entire weekend was possible, and thanks to his help and the help of our sponsors, this was our most successful weekend ever.”
