The weather was as close to ideal as could be expected on Saturday, and the track was busy with people from near and far taking part in the Straightline Snowmobile Racing Association’s (SSRA) drag racing event in St. Paul.

According to race director Cory Carter, everything went extremely well on Saturday, in large part due to the hard work of a number of volunteers from the St. Paul Trailblazers Snowmobile Club.
Volunteers could be seen organizing and coordinating races, along with taking part in a few of the events themselves, either with their kids or on their own machines.
Hosting the event truly is a community effort, with businesses helping build the track, and doing whatever else was needed to make the day happen.
“The event was a huge success,” says Carter. In fact, the SSRA has asked St. Paul to host the Western Canadian Championship next season, which means the drag racing event will be held over two days.
