On Aug. 21, Elk Point RCMP executed a search warrant on a residence near Highway 646 in Elk Point.

Several items believed to be stolen were seized, including 10 vehicles, one enclosed trailer, one motorcycle, three snowmobiles, four ATVs and two lawn tractors. Many of the items were missing VIN numbers and were in various pieces.

Elk Point RCMP were assisted with this investigation by the Emergency Response Team (ERT) - Edmonton, General Investigation Section (GIS), Auto Theft Unit, and RCMP Air Services.

Neil Lawrence Mountain, a 40-year-old from Beaver Lake, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences: Five counts of Theft Over $5,000; 10 counts of Theft Under $5,000; two counts of altering a VIN.

He was remanded into custody and will be appearing in provincial court on Sept. 7, via CCTV.

Dwayne Norman Lagimodiere, a 36-year-old male from Frog Lake was charged with the following Criminal Code offences: five counts of Theft Over $5,000; 10 counts of theft under $5,000; two counts of altering a VIN; four counts of failing to comply with release conditions.

He was remanded into custody and will be appearing in provincial court on Sept. 7, 2017 via CCTV.

Two more suspects are wanted in relation to the investigation.

Arlene Janice Lagimodiere, 39-years-old, and Jeremy Gordon Whincup, 46-years-old, both from Manville, are wanted for the following Criminal Code offences: five counts of Theft Over $5,000; 10 counts of Theft Under $5,000; two counts of altering a VIN.

Police are requesting anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Arlene Lagimodiere or Jeremy Whincup to call the Elk Point RCMP at (780) 724-3829, or your local police service.

An arrest has been made by St. Paul RCMP after a fatal hit and run was reported on Nov. 26, 2016.

St. Paul RCMP was dispatched to a report of a pedestrian who was lying on a road in Saddle Lake First Nation. A witness that was on scene assisting the pedestrian male then updated police that a white Ford F-150 truck struck the pedestrian male while he was lying in the roadway.

The truck also collided with a vehicle nearby and then fled the scene. The truck was later recovered in Saddle Lake.

Romeo Quinney**, a 27-year-old male from Saddle Lake was pronounced deceased at the scene. No one else was injured.

Tyson Hunter**, a 44-year-old male from Saddle Lake was arrested and charged with: Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death; fail to remain at the scene of an accident; and driving while disqualified.

He was remanded into custody and was set to appear in court last week, in St. Paul. His next court appearance is set for Sept. 7.

St. Paul RCMP was assisted during this investigation by the Forensic Identification Unit (FIS), Collision Reconstruction Unit and Athabasca and Vermillion Traffic Services.

As this matter is now before the courts no further information will be provided.
