Over 50 mini-canvases displayed at St. Paul library

Artwork on display at the St. Paul Municipal Library's mini-art show is quite literally 'mini.'

ST. PAUL – The St. Paul Municipal Library is holding its second annual mini-art show from April 9 to May 17, and the artwork on display is quite literally mini.

Last month, community members of all ages signed up to take part. They were given a small canvas to create art in any medium.

A variety of tools were used, depending on the artist, like clay or felt markers, says Monique Poulin, program coordinator at the library. Now, there are over 50 mini-canvasses on display at the library.

“We hope people will come in, check out the art from all our community artists and budding artists,” says Poulin. There are little booklets next to the artwork and people can write on those booklets, expressing what they think of the art.

This year, residents of Extendicare St. Paul, and people supported by the St. Paul Abilities Network also joined the event.

The mini-art show was created to give people a unique opportunity to explore art in different forms, says Poulin.
