The St. Paul Journal has been recording the life and times of the community and area since 1924. It is published every Tuesday and is the leading source for news, sports and information in the area. The Journal serves a wide area including the communities of: St. Paul, Elk Point, St.Vincent, St. Lina, Glendon, Mallaig, Goodridge, Ashmont, Spedden, Vilna, Brosseau, Derwent, Myrnam, Two Hills, Lafond, St. Brides, Lindbergh, Heinsburg, Dewberry, Willingdon, Saddle Lake and Goodfish Lake.
St. Paul is strategically located in the centre of the northeast region and is a major trading centre for 35,000 people. The labour force of St. Paul is predominantly employed in service occupations and the trade sector, followed by the construction industry and government sectors. Agriculture is the area’s mainstay but the oil and gas sector is also a major contributor to the area’s economy. Saddle Lake Cree Nation borders the County of St. Paul with its 5,000 plus residents accessing retail, education, health care and other services in St. Paul. The region is home to numerous cultural festivals, rodeos and agricultural fairs annually. The area boasts numerous lakes and offers many outdoor recreational opportunities.
