The Conseil Scolaire Centre-Est (CSCE) has appointed an interim superintendent, in the absence of superintendent Marc Dumont, according to a media release dated Oct. 30.

Henri Lemire will take on the role of acting superintendent with the local francophone school division, as of Oct. 30. Lemire has years of experience, according to the press release from the CSCE, which was received Tuesday afternoon. He was a superintendent with the Conseil Scolaire Centre-Nord for 20 years, notes the release.

The CSCE oversees a number of francophone schools in the area, including École du Sommet, in St. Paul.

A local parent group has been asking Dumont to step down from his position. Investigations into issues that arose following the absence of École du Sommet principal Yvan Beaudoin have been taking place over the past seven months.

See the Nov. 6 issue of the St. Paul Journal for more details.
