The Zarowny Motors Superleague curling league wrapped up its season with a year-end bonspiel on Saturday and Sunday, with the Kupchenko Farms and Unwind Massage team taking home the A-side finals 10-7, in extra ends over Speedy Lube and Car Washes rink, with skip Gerry Jean.

Curtis Paulichuk, Kendall Warawa, Collin and Nevin Kupchenko earned the bragging rights for taking home the final in a well-fought match.

The B-side saw North Part Collision and Frame Limited skipped by Richard Smyl defeat the VB Insurance team, skipped by President of the Superleague Troy Bohn.

Richard, Allen Smyl, Wally and Ollie Zapisocki make up the B-side winning team.

“There was a hot shots competition on Friday with all the teams participating, and the play down Saturday was a double elimination tournament,” Bohn explained.

The bonspiel featured a catered supper on Saturday evening to cap off a good first day of play.

The 12-team league has each club compete in 11 games in a round robin format throughout the season, with games taking place Monday nights.

“A huge thanks goes to Zarowny Motors for sponsoring the Superleague, as well as to the volunteers that helped out and made the weekend a huge success,” Bohn said.

Bohn also added that if anyone is interested in joining the league next season, or has any questions about it, to reach out and contact him.
