First St. Paul Cornerstone Co-op Ag Days held in St. Paul

The Cornerstone Co-op held its first St. Paul Cornerstone Co-op Ag Days at the Recreation Centre on March 21.

ST. PAUL – The Cornerstone Co-op held its first St. Paul Cornerstone Co-op Ag Days at the Recreation Centre on March 21.

The event was an opportunity to discover and check out the latest happenings in the agricultural industry. From equipment demonstrations, livestock supplies, free lunch, and other services, 20 partnering vendors were present at the event.

In the past, Co-op has offered a similar event called Lunch and Learn. But due to pandemic, Cornerstone paused some of its local events, including Lunch and Learn.

“So, we’re starting over again... see where this would lead,” said Joanne Paquette, ag manager with St. Paul Co-op, expressing her excitement at the event.

Roy Matias, store manager at St. Paul Co-op's Home Centre, said the event was also an opportunity to engage with the community. Matias said they were happy with the turnout.

Initially, they didn’t know how many people would come out. “And we’re very surprised and thankful that we did get as many people as we had coming in our first annual,” said Mattias.

Over 180 people attended the Thursday event.

“We’d like to thank the community for just coming out and supporting us,” said Matias.

Paquette added they hope to see the event grow bigger in the future.
