Police investigating suspicious death in Goodfish Lake

RCMP are investigating what they say is as suspicious death that happened at a residence in Goodfish (Whitefish) Lake.

GOODFISH LAKE - RCMP are investigating what they say is as suspicious death that happened at a residence in Goodfish (Whitefish) Lake.

On April 11, at about 6:37 p.m., St. Paul RCMP responded to a report of an injured man at a residence on Main Road in Goodfish Lake.

"Upon arrival, RCMP located a male with multiple gunshot wounds. Life saving measures were initiated, but the male succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased by EMS," according to information from RCMP. "At this time, the circumstances around the death have been deemed suspicious."  

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken carriage of the investigation with help from St. Paul RCMP and St. Paul Forensic Identification Services.

The deceased man, who was 28-year-old, has been identified and an autopsy is scheduled for April 15 at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton.

RCMP are looking to the public for information regarding this incident.
